Postcards

What is a Postcard?

This is a card that has a picture on the front of it of a place you may have visited and wanted to share that place with a family member or a friend. You write a brief note on the back of it, stick on a stamp and drop it off in the nearest mailbox. At least that is what we used to do before phone cameras and social media. Over the years I've collected quite a few postcards that I store in an album, like we used to store photographs. They have writings on the back and speak of a time that is long past. The place may have changed or even gone away but the people seem to be very close to me while reading their words. I wanted to share these cards with you. I picked a lot of the older ones so you can go back in time for a little while. These postcards are a reflection of the things that I like:

Architecture (Mansions and Manors, Missions and Churches, Hotels) Outdoors (Gardens, Flowers, Woods, Crashing Water and Rocks) Romance (Lover's Lanes, Moonlit Nights and Sunsets)

I hope you find some enjoyment from the past in these postcards.

I've broken the postcards out into albums for each of the States listed below. There may be more than one postcard per album. Check the thumbnails at the bottom of each album. There is also an overlay that will appear on the images in the albums. If you have a popup blocker on you may not see it. I used that to note the year the postcard was mailed or whether it was ever mailed.
