Atlantis 2: Beyond Atlantis

Post by Ghostlady »

GOG has Atlantis 2: Beyond Atlantis on sale for 59 cents. One of my favorite old time games. Can't get it for a much cheaper price than this.

Oh, that is another oldie, but a goodie I really need! Thank you for the tip, Ghostlady!

Having fun in Shivers and already captured my first Ixupi!

EDIT: Well, shucks. It is only for XP or Vista.

I loved Beyond Atlantis. Riding the horse in Ireland was a very memorable moment in gaming for me.

I played Shivers for the first time two years ago and loved it. The DOS disk works perfectly in ScummVM.

The GOG version uses ScummVM, and ScummVM is not limited to XP and Vista.
You can probably install the game, and then replace the version of ScummVM it's using with the latest version of ScummVM.

If you have the CD version of the game, you can use the relevant Sierrahelp installer for the game.

Thank you, middletoe! I just might try the disc and the installer. I hadn't thought about the game in years, but this post makes me want to play it.

Some areas are hard to get past but I have a bunch of saves from Hawka in the Attic. :)
It's a such a great game! I agree with Lady K about riding the horse in Ireland. Unforgettable.

This game is one of my all time favourites - I can still hear the spiders!

I think it's dumbed down but I have a version on my iPad.

I'm glad the spiders didn't look too realistic, but I was glad when I didn't have to go on that web again. I did love the puzzle in China where you have to deal with the bureaucracy to get your paper stamped correctly. It's frustrating until you realize that there's another section on the ceiling.

I really enjoyed the writing in "Atlantis 2", the sense of place it instilled, the sense of a different mythological time.

I loved this game. I must return some day. The music of Ireland is always in my mind. Think it was Ireland. The horse, the island?

Let's just say it's an ancient Celtic land that's very green and magical. :)
