What Adventure Game Are You Playing
Re: What Adventure Game Are You Playing
Skeeter - Da Vinci 2 is first person but I didn't find the controls too manic. Maybe you should check out a video preview to see whether it would affect you? The puzzles are totally brilliant though so hope it will work out for you. Beyond the Steel Sky is also first person and great fun but try the video idea first too before spending money on it.

I am playing The Thirteenth Doll a fan game of The 7th Guest. We all remember Stauf?
I played the game as Dr. Richmond and now I am off for a second play as Tad.

Re: What Adventure Game Are You Playing
Old man Stauf built a house
and filled it with his toys.
Six Guests were invited one night,
their screams the only noise.
Blood in the Library, blood right up the hall,
dripping down the attic stairs, "Hey Guests!, try not to fall".
Nobody came out that night. Not one was ever seen.
But Old man Stauf is waiting there... Crazy! Sick! and MEAN!

I've always been fascinated about the history of 7th Guest, including the introduction of CD ROM. If you've never read the history, you should.

Yes, I've heard the fan game is somewhat easier than The 7th Guest but a better and more fitting sequel than The 11th Hour. I really enjoyed The 7th Guest but haven't played the others.

You are right on both accounts. I am enjoying it and actually taking a second run at it by playing the second character.

I took a break from playing Anna's Quest because I reached a bit of a sticking point. It's an excellent game but there are some unusual inventory puzzles. I don't want to look at a walkthrough if I can help it, so I switched over to The Cabinets of Dr. Arcana, a pure puzzler. There's not much of a story so far, but the atmosphere is spooky.

Since I missed the Myst convo last month and am famously known as “the man who killed a Myst Uru” (ask Ghostlady), let me reiterate that Riven may be the greatest pure adventure game ever.
Ford had formed a theory to account for this strange behavior... if human beings don't keep on exercising their lips, he thought, their brains start working.

Think I might agree with you - but failed to complete it at the time. Would love to tackle it again with a walkthrough to get me over the hump!
Re: What Adventure Game Are You Playing
I got thru Riven fine, but am struggling with Riven II

I'm overdue for a replay of Riven. It's a wonderful game! I supported the kickstarter of the re-issue of all the Myst games and have the Myst linking book with the flyover video. Inside one of the drawers is Ghen's ink stand and pen. I haven't assembled it yet but will as soon as I rearrange my computer area.

I just started Forgotten Hill Disillusion. It’s one of a series. So far so fun, but I am stuck already

This looks like something I would like. I may get this after my Nancy Drew game.

I have played most if not all in the series. They’re some of my top faves.
I have since gotten unstuck and progressed about halfway (I think).
