Yes Drac - it WAS the really graphic murder scenes at the beginning which kind of put me off! Unlike you I normally enjoy the solo wandering around type of game but this scene gave me the heebie geebies. I was delighted with the graphics and freedom it allowed me so think I will put aside my unease and continue after a little while. Thanks for your review, and by the way, I read the link Phelas gave to the MM window. If the GB review was different please let me know. And thanks Phlebas for the info! :)

Someone may have done a review at GB too. Like I said, I just forget where I am sometimes because I spend so much time at both places!

I started Keepsake today. This is a replay for me, but it has been so long ago that I barely remember it.

I am going to replay this one also. I’ve been wanting to for awhile.

“Keepsake” had a lot going for it - shame if I remember correctly the developers were discouraged by negative reactions they got from some people.

I played Keepsake just a couple of months ago and I have to say I would be one of those giving it a bad review. I spent more time running around the castle than I did playing. I almost didn't finish it but as with books I hate to leave something unfinished.

I freely quit games and books I’m not enjoying. This was a hard lesson for me, but I finally decided if I’m not being entertained by my entertainment, there is something wrong with this picture. Now I will give books about 50 pages and games about 15 minutes to grab me.

I liked the bitter sweet atmosphere of "Keepsake" more than I liked the disorientation of moving around the castle. I'm currently replaying "Lost Horizon" on the iPad which is holding up playing other games I want to get to!

Exact same for me. In my younger years I would have never given up on a game or book. Now my thinking is why drudge through this when there are so many out there that are good.

The Steam version of Keepsake has a map, and there's a patch available for those who have the original discs. It does help with navigation along with the question mark button, which can give you a picture of where to go next if you're feeling lost.

Just finished 15 Days. Not a hard game. Very story driven. Just a few puzzles which have a skip option if you get tired of futzing with them. There were only a few times I had to peak at a walkthrough as I couldn't figure out how to advance the game from where I was. (Turns out I simply had to look at something innocuous in the scene, or look at something that had been in my inventory for days and didn't indicate it was anything more than what it was.) The story was good. Voice acting superb. Nice cut scenes and music. The ending wasn't the most satisfying...unless they make a sequel. Still...I really enjoyed it.

BTW The game did crash on me several times. There are apparent known issues about the game crashes. I just saved often and when I had to replay a part I skipped the dialogue. The game never re-crashed in those spots for me.

I played Riddle of the Sphinx for most of yesterday. Even though this was a replay for me, I had to laugh when I got stuck at exactly the same spot I did way back when I played for the first time.
Anyhow, I'm savouring the atmosphere and the music. I love finding the clues and the passages. It is such a rewarding game. The remastered edition has an added feature you can get called The Book of Dead Ends. It is there for hints, but I use it for maps and the extra details about the other items you find in the tombs and chambers, such as what the room was used for and what the items were made of and where they came from.
