2018 is having some bad news for me

Our cat Tabitha has been eating less and less over these last few days so as we were worried I took her to the vets in Cottenham after work today. Anxious I would be late there as there were roadworks in Cottenham holding up the traffic.

The vet Mardie saw us, found that Tabitha had lost more weight and was having problems breathing. Sadly Mardie said that it was time to have Tabitha put down. I felt very sad, sadder than when Dad died. Tears come when I speak to other people about this, tears didn’t really come for my father I’m ashamed to say.

I feel we feel so very sorry towards our eldest Tabitha - poor thing. She has meant a lot to us over the 12 years we’ve had her, she’s survived ages since needing tablets for an impaired liver function. She is my best birthday present ever.

I'm so sorry, Kickaha. Tabitha was part of your family...and a dear friend. Don't be surprised at the tears. It simply means that Tabitha touched your heart in ways and depths you didn't expect...and you're feeling her loss. The wounds are still fresh from your father's passing as well. Your heart has endured a lot of sadness over the past few weeks. Time and fond memories, I hope, will provide healing soon.

Aw so sorry to hear this Kickaha. Animals become like children to us and it is always heartbreaking when they leave. Remember the good times.

Awww.... Kickaha, it's so hard to lose our fur-kids. I was the same way with my mom, no tears, just sadness and missing her.

I am so sorry for your loss. Our animals are truly our friends. What helps me to get over my grief is having more animals! I just dogsat for another dog so I had 4 dogs in the house. It does help me get out of myself. otherwise i can get quite depressed. Good luck and I hope that you are feeling better soon. Hugs to you.

Kickaha, I just read your tribute to Tabitha and it was so moving. She was so loved by you, and I am sure that she knew it. You gave her so much love. I have a picture on my fridge of all my fur babies that have passed and I look at it every day. I never want to forget the loyalty and love that they gave me. Again, a great big hug to you.
