I love my desktop computer and spend hours every day at it (the computer!). BUT, I hate the myriad wires and plugs underneath. I do my best to keep them untangled and I loop up any excess wire, but somehow they have a life of their own and land up wrapped around my feet. Anyone whoever comes up with a method of keeping these wires neat I will personally kiss the feet of!

Same here! I've seen many solutions, but none of them seem to work.

Right, here is the video that prompted me to do something about my cable mess. But I wont use a cardboard tube as the video suggests because for me that could be a fire risk. I am going to screw a surge protected extension lead to the underside of my desk top.

First thought was WOW, a great idea. Then I read the comments about fire risk and overheating and realized it was back to the drawing board. I'm going to look into your idea of screwing the power strip to the desk.
I have two electrical outlets under my desk. Two outlets are taken by my D-line boxes, this leaves 2 open outlets and 1 on one of the boxes. The power strip is in one outlet and has 5 plugs in it, the processor is in another, with the phone in the remaining one. I have one slot on the power bar free if anyone can think of something I can plug in. Seem a shame to waste it!

When my husband built my computer desk, he built a lip on the back that supports an electric strip with 7 outlets, so all my wires are up off the floor. It makes cleaning under the desk so much easier, and I just slide the computer over when I want to plug in or unplug something.
I’m more confused than a chameleon in a bagful of Skittles.

Rosaboobie, did you ever get your sound card connected to your speakers?
She sent me some pictures of the back of her computer and I found she was trying to plug her speakers in to the motherboard sound instead of her stand-alone sound card.
