Wow, if Bonanza blocked you from FaceBook they must have something to hide
and are afraid that you will broadcast this on FB for all to see.

Yes, and loads more negative comments being posted daily, especially about them not replying to peoples' emails and complaints.

Hi Rosaboobie,
Just curious to know if you made any more headway in solving your Word problem or are you still waiting for an answer from MS and I guess you will Not Hold Your Breath waiting for a response from Bonanza, they should rename themselves "Banana, this outfit seems to be run by a bunch of monkeys"

As you know, Bonanza have washed their hands of me, and Paypal are still reviewing my case, but I will be so angry if I dont get a refund. It's not the money but the principle of it all.

The good news is that I went ahead and purchased Word 2016 from the Microsoft Store - all went absolutely beautifully on installation and it even activated itself - I am just so pleased with this software. Do you have to pay an annual subscription for this, or is it an outright lifetime purchase, Ray? I think I saw that with some of the Suites you now have to pay a fee annually?

No you do not have to pay an annual fee, as for lifetime purchase, no, but it will be good until 2025 (See MS Link below for end of support cycle for Word 2016).
The product you saw that you have to pay an annual or monthly fee is the "Office 365" and in which there are all kinds of selections and the basic goes for a $100.00 a year depending where you live and then the annual cost can skyrocket if you want a more full suite. The only advantage of the yearly fee is it is good for up to 5 devices, which sounds good, but my worry on that is: Will the too good to believe price stay fixed at that price or will MS in a year or two start to increase the cost.

Anyway I am happy for you and I hope you enjoy the new Word as much as I am, again I am really happy I went that route so far.
My fingers and toes are crossed in the hope you get a Refund.

It's also the seller who didn't support his/her sale too. Instead of the nasty email you got from Bonanza about cease and desist orders, they should have told you they would investigate that seller. I hope you also left a bad review for the seller at his page.

Had this purchase been made from Amazon, I think they would have stood by their customer first. At least that's been my experience with them.

So glad you are loving your new Word! And yes, what Ray said about the subscription. That's only for Office 365.

You are not going to believe this - Paypal have decided in favour of that rogue Bonanza seller who I purchased the illegal Office 2010 and refuse to give me a refund - I am so angry.

Can't say I'm surprised... It wasn't necessarily an illegal copy. The license just only came with one ability to activate. As the folks at the forum said, you probably could have reactivated it by phone. I think what he might have done is what RaytheBear suggested - he took a license that had several activations available and then sold them off separately to make more money. Not really illegal, just deceptive.

Right, so if I telephoned MS, I might still be able to use this on my laptop?

I would think it is definitely possible. Can't hurt to try! These licenses just say you can't have it on more than one computer at a time.
