Does anyone here play on consoles?

I am totally addicted to Chrono Trigger on my leetle DS. I started on Friday and can't put it down! Usually I am not a big Square fan, but this game doesn't have random monsters and the boss battles are not so epic as in, say, Final Fantasy. Chrono Trigger is a recently released port of an old game (late 90s, I'd guess) that was originally on a bigger console. And it is fun fun fun!

I have all types of Nintendos, even the original NES, a PS2, and an Xbox (not 360, unfortunately). Most of them gather dust, but the DS gets used more often than my computer (for gaming, anyway).

I have Chrono Cross, the follow-up to Chrono Trigger, for PlayStation, and I might just have to dust that bad boy off and load it up next.

I've been playing Chrono Trigger and enjoying it a lot too - very creatively put together and a lot of fun. Some great character moments too. And because it's on the DS I can play it in bed!

I play it in bed, too, and then I have a hard time shutting it off to go to sleep.

Not that I didn't tried, when I'm trying to play a game on a console I have 5 thumbs in each hand, can't remember wich button is doing what, I want to shoot and I run, I want to jump and I shoot etc... I have no skills using a gamepad, something more complicated than a mouse is a dead end for me.

I started gaming on consoles, way back in my mid-20s. The controller is second nature to me. I can see where it would be hard to take it up later in life, though, what with all of the buttons.

Danyboy, have you ever played on a Wii? That kind of controller seems like it would be a lot easier to master.

Yes I played it and loved it. Love all my consoles and have the lot. At the moment am playing Dementium - The Ward - on DS. It is scary and hard and I just love this.

Have all the horror ones for my other consoles and I don't seem to have enough time in the day!!! Wonder why???

Danyboy, have you ever played on a Wii? That kind of controller seems like it would be a lot easier to master.

At home we have a Nintendo, Super Nintendo, Nintendo 64, Dreamcast, Playstation 2, GameCube and a Xbox 360. We might buy a Wii when we will have the money to do so. I tried the Wii a while ago, I tried a game where we had to throw cows, don't remember wich one it was, You're right it was easier.

I have collected every Adventure game made for the Xbox. Games like Dreamfall seem to play differently (better)on xbox compared to PC. The Myst games..not so much. We have the Xbox 360(sons), playstation 3 ( we use them for dvd and blu ray movies too)and a wii. Have played some games on the wii but I use it for the wii fit more. I started with consoles a long time ago too. Pong being my 1st. What really got me started was Maniac Mansion on Nintendo. Ahhh...the days.

Funny that - it's almost as if the game was designed for consoles first and then ported a little sloppily to PC or something...

I have most if not all of the consoles.

DS - Probably gets the most mobile play. Lots of good adventure stuff...and it runs ScummVM.
PSP - Sits in a drawer never getting used as it's pants.
Xbox 360 - Currently playing Fallout 3 on it.
PS3 - My console of choice at the moment. Resident Evil 5 at the moment.
Wii - Mostly for Wii Fit at the moment, but I have Sam and Max, Tunguska etc on it.

The only console I ever used was the original Gameboy (grey screen, needed a lighted, magnifier attachment to see the screen well enough, and I used rechargeable batteries). There was a strategy game set in feudal Japan that I used to play a lot--and Tetris!

I mostly use my Mac computers, (or very long ago, mainframes and then DOS--Yuck).
