Post by Siobhan »

As I now have the laptop thought I'd get some point and click games which I love. or anythiong else you can suggest. FPS games also would be good, mystery games etc. Any suggestions?

I ALWAYS recommend Diablo II with the Lord of Destruction expansion and the patches (which add content)--all can be gotten by buying the Diablo Battlechest, except the patches which can be downloaded at blizzard.com! ;) It's a very clicky-type game, but is actually an Action-RPG type. I've been addicted to it for several years.

If you are looking for more of a turned-based game, check out spiderwebgames.com and download some of their RPG demos.

Eshalon Book I at basiliskgames.com is fun, too, even though there is no option to play a female character...

None of these are really what is known as a point and click game, though.

Eschalon Book II will remedy the lack of choice as regards the gender of your character.

There's quite a range of casual games now.

Oh, yes, Diablo II. Jude got me hooked on this game some time ago. If you want a little vampire fun, Vampire Redemption is an older point and click RPG. If you REALLY want to get into a new RPG, The Witcher is just an incredibly good game. You can make it point and click or mouse and keyboard. It needs a pretty beefy system though.

Hi Siobhan,

I maybe late to this dicussion but had to chime in with one of my favorite Diablo like games called Titan QUest which is a addictive fun game, once you get going you wont stop...Also right now by chance you can buy it bundled with its expansion pack for only $5.00 at Direct2drive which is a steal.

One more Max Payne 2 is often overlooked shooter . I just purchased part 2 and so far it has been a blast. also available right now for $5.00 .

Anyways hope you have tried and enjoyed some of these games that have been reccomended by everybody on this thread.

Take Care,
Patchman

Patchman, when you are playing Max Payne, don't forget that you can shoot and break all sorts of things (signs, windows, etc., and that you can often go places that you wouldn't expect which sometimes lead to hidden caches or mini-areas (try fire escapes, for example!)

Kivi's Underworld (Soldak) is also a lot of fun. It's a simple to play but fun hack & slash game.

As to good RPG's, I would suggest The Witcher Enhanced, you will not find a better game. Also Titan Quest, The Hand of God, Loki, Space Siege, Sacred 2.

These are all games I play over and over, so I keep them. Also the Dungeon Siege games are great. Hope this helps.

Thank you, ghostly! The Witcher is definitely the best RPG I've ever played.

Dungeon Siege also has a lot of user made mods, some of which are very good, for when you grow tired of playing the maps and story that come with the game. I particularly liked the Mystery of the Abyss mod. Unfortunately, since the game is rather old, a lot of the mods are hard to find, now.
