Sinking Island

Post by Ghostlady »

Sinking Island was created by B. Sokal who is the creator of the Syberia Games. I think this is a lost gem.

Nice screenshots, GL! You captured quite a bit more of the art deco elegance of the hotel than I've seen before.
I’m more confused than a chameleon in a bagful of Skittles.

Yes, it was very different for a game. The hotel was an interesting place.

Just picked this up a couple of weeks ago in a thrift store for 1 Euro.

Gosh hearing from you all about games I have played in the past and enjoyed has made me want to play them again. Played The Book of Unwritten Tales and then someone posted that there was a #2 and realised I had never played it! The third game in the series, yes, but somehow that second one passed me by. Just finished it yesterday and loved it although preferred the first one.
There are so many games of exceptional quality from years back which are still immense pleasure to replay today.
Thanks for all your suggestions.
Am now downloading The Suicide of Rachel Foster. Back to the real world. :)

I’ve decided to play new and old so I am alternating. The Suicide of Rachel was one of the newer games I wanted to play. Let me go check my specs.

I bought Sinking Island when it came out but never got around to playing it until a community playthrough for it turned up on Adventure Gamers.
I can't believe I never gave it a look earlier as I found it to be an interesting & very engrossing game when I finally got to play it.

N.B. I love the revamped screenshots in the Winery! :thumbright: .....that's not to say I didn't I love the unvamped ones to start with....

Yes, I agree with you. And engrossing is a great word for it. I think it’s one of those forgotten gems.
