Halloween Challenge #4 - Noises of the Night

Post by LadyKestrel »

Image

If you've ever awakened in the middle of the night to a strange and unfamiliar sound, you probably know what it's like to have the hairs stand up on the back of your neck. Maybe it was just some water dripping from the faucet or the house creaking because it was settling. Or maybe it was something else.

Whatever it was, the noises shown above can be found in the titles of 17 different adventure games. Your task is to figure out the game titles. Each correct answer is worth 5 points.* If you miss all or part of an answer, one point will be deducted from your score. You may PM me as many times as you wish, but get your answers in by 10:00 PM Eastern Daylight Time on Halloween night, October 31. If you're staying at Mystery Manor between now and then, you'll find a set of earplugs under your pillow. We don't want our guests to be startled in the middle of the night, now do we? Sleep tight! :zzz :pump

*Please note that a number may appear as a numeral from 1 to 9 rather than written some other way.

Noises of the Night Answers:

1. Amber: Journeys Beyond
2. Detective Hayseed: Hollywood
3. Chronicles of Mystery: The Scorpio Ritual
4. Escape from Monkey Island
5. Woodruff and the Schnibble of Azimuth
6. Ally’s Adventure: Through the Glass
7. The Sea Will Claim Everything
8. Amazon: Guardians of Eden
9. The Grimsworth Reports: Woodfall

Please note that the title in #11 is missing the spaces for a three-letter word just after the two letter word. You may omit the missing word when you submit your answer for it.

Thanks for catching that one, Lucien!

Phlebas chose the collectors' edition of Murder by Numbers. Have fun with it, Phlebas, and let us know what you think of it.

Thanks so much! I haven't had a chance to try the game yet (the puzzly murder mystery format sounds like very much my kind of thing) but I'm enjoying the soundtrack a lot.
