Mouse problems

Post by mbday630 »

My mouse is acting crazy so I took a pointy thing and tried to get the gunk away from the mouse wheel (and I got a lot of stuff out of there - I shouldn't eat while I am playing games!) but, it is still acting wacky. I was wondering, can I put my mouse in the dishwasher or put it in hot water and wash it? stupid question, but, I am really wondering. I can't live with the mouse the way it is and i hate spending money on a new mouse if I don't need to.

NO to the dishwasher! I suspect there is gunk too far down for you to reach it and you'll probably have to get a new one. They are incredibly cheap with a decent Logitech wireless mouse about $10 at Wal Mart. I have one for emergencies, but it's too small for daily use. I use a Razer Death Adder Chroma. Logitech has some excellent mice for $25. This link at Amazon is before you narrow a search down to wired or wireless etc.

I agree with Draclvr, Absolutely NO to Dishwasher, etc. Is your mouse battery operated? If so, maybe it is time to put in a New battery. If it is a plug in mouse, try unplugging it and then re-plug it to see if that helps. Or go to your device manager, find your mouse and choose uninstall and then Reboot (or Restart) your machine, sometimes reinstalling the Drivers helps.
Good luck

Isn't the bottom sealed? Most new mice have a sealed bottom. I get a little lint out of the top of my wheel now and then, but that's it.
