Steam account

Post by mbday630 »

Every day for the past 1-1/2 weeks I get an email from Steam that says that someone has tried to access my steam account and they know my name and password - Luckily, my email and steam account have a different password - but, this is worrisome. And the IP address is always different too of the people that are trying to access my account. is there anything different that I should do?

This is most likely spam. But it's best to make sure. What is the address of the sender? Sometimes you have to hit forward to be able to see the whole thing. There are a lot of spam Amazon emails right now and the sender's email is always nonsense. If you would like me to take a look at it, just forward the email to me. I will PM you my email address if that's what you want to do.

You can always go to your Steam account and change your password.

I have been deleting these emails but the next time that I get one, I will send it to you. but, it seems like it is always a different IP address. I would go directly to Steam to find out if the emails are really from them.

What I would want to know is the email address they are being sent from. If it's spam, it will be a nonsense email. Do you have your two-step authentication set up with Steam?

Yes, I do have the two step log-in and they send me a number that I have to put in to access my account. but, if they ever got my email password, I could be in trouble.

If it was me, I would change my password on both my Steam account and on my email account.
