80 Days by Frogwares

80 Days by Frogwares. I've had this on my shelf forever and decided I wanted to give it a whirl. I ran the install on my Windows 10 machine and at the very end a message popped up about the runtime only being compatible with XP. When I try to launch the game it won't. Any advice?

Have you tried setting the compatibility mode to XP?

I think so. I right clicked on the executable and then I selected XP compatibility.

This may be one of those old games that won't play on Windows 10. Frogwares quit selling it in 2011 I think. GOG has it tweaked to run on new systems.

I looked for it on GOG last night. I found the same link you did but this is for a newer game and not related to the Frogwares 80 days. I gave my XP laptop to one of my kids I need to find out if they still have it.

That would be the best thing... just keep an old XP around for these old games! Because we DO like our older games!

I found an XP that was my sons. I am back in business!

Yay! I really need to get my old XP back up and running. I have to trouble shoot a bad stick of RAM first though.

I recall my XP laptop just about played any game and with no problems.

There is a patch for 80 Days (2005)

Also, it might need a NoCD to play on anything later than XP.
