How Do I Know If My Graphics Card Will Work For A Game

Post by Ghostlady »

How do I know if my graphics card will work for a game?

I have Radeon 550 Series and the game requirement is:
256 MB 100% DirectX 9 compatible AMD Radeon HD 3850/Nvidia GaForce 8600 GTS or higher

I just looked online and Radeon 3850 is from 2007 whereas the 550 is from 2017. So it definitely fits the “or higher” part of that requirement 😀

An excellent resource is Can You Run it from SystemRequirementsLab. Enter the name of the game and it will look at your system.

Another good resource is GPU Boss. You can enter two cards and compare their specs to several benchmarks.

For instance, here is a comparison of your 550 with the 3850. Both cards are quite old in "computer age."
