Where is my mail?
Re: Where is my mail?
Give Yahoo a chance before you lose hope. As to those online fixes, Drac, most of them pointed to the Yahoo support fix.
Re: Where is my mail?
Yes, most of them did. But there were also some that talked about ATT.net accounts and other things. I'm afraid mbday is at the mercy of Yahoo. Which is not a good place to be in my opinion as this appears to be a very common problem. I also have concerns about her Window 7 causing problems here too...

Re: Where is my mail?
I don't know anything about ATT.net but there were a lot of mentions about mobile devices and apps causing issues. As to Windows 7, I don't think it caused her issues but I do agree it's time to move on...at least when you're online. You know yourself that I was a hard sell when it came to moving on from Windows 7. I had the means though to buy a new laptop with Windows 10 to do so. Now it's my main machine.
Re: Where is my mail?
ATT.net uses Yahoo mail for their email service for people who don't want to use Gmail or Outlook.com. I have had to rescue more computers from malware and other problems caused by Yahoo mail that any other single source! But I sure hope they can recover your email for you.
Last spring I had to upgrade a Windows 7 computer when it finally had so much malware on it, it would barely work. And she never went anywhere on the internet except for about 3 places which were totally safe. But there it took almost 2 hours to remove all the malware with Malwarebytes and then CCleaner. When I found out she was doing banking and paying credit card bills on that Windows 7 computer I about had a heart attack! I upgraded her computer to Window 10 and she's never looked back is now safe as she can be.

Re: Where is my mail?
Yahoo got me most of my emails (I think) but they put all the ones that were in spam and all my deleted ones in the inbox too, so I have to go through them. but, At least I have some of the most important ones. whew. Thanks everyone for all your help!
Re: Where is my mail?
I'm glad they were able to help you, MB. Now...let Drac help you in setting up an email client on your computer so that you can download them and not have to rely on them staying online ad infinitum.

Re: Where is my mail?
Oh, I was SO hoping to find out they helped you get your mail back! What an awful feeling that must have been. I have a friend who had her old MSN email compromised by a hacker. I had her move all her emails from years that she wanted to keep - many were business related or legal documents - over to a new email address at Outlook.com with a backup at Gmail. It took forever, but it was a good thing she did because when she didn't pay this guy's ransom, he totally trashed that email address and rendered it useless. It was awful, but she didn't lose anything. Of course it was all reported etc., but these hackers are elusive as smoke.
