If you use, CCleaner, please check your version. If it is v. 5.33, it is infected with malware. Immediately download the latest version directly from the Piriform website. I had the infected version and when trying to update the version through the application, I was directed to File Hippo and my Windows Defender popped up that there was a trojan.

I don't think ANYTHING is safe any more. When you get home, just check your version.

Ccleaner was bought by Avast. Likely the hackers figured a larger company had more commercial customers especially. So they targeted their servers.

Just remembered to check my Ccleaner - and it is telling me there is a new update aavaiable - hopefully this version wont have any Malware included!

Make sure you have version, 5.33, it is infected. I think the newest one is 5.35.

I am having great difficulty downloading the latest Ccleaner - Had to start from scratch as my previous version of Ccleaner seems to have mysteriously disappeared from my desktop - My head hurts - I will try again tomorrow!

If you have the infected version, you should not download from inside the program. I tried and kept getting trojan warnings from Defender. Go to the Piriform website and download from there.
