You shouldn't have to - especially if you've never had to install it there before. It just sounds to me like the connection in timing out or something like that. It's not impossible that the drive is failing, but that would be my last option to consider.

Right I plugged the EHD into another USB port and it played beautifully for a time, and then it froze yet again!

Hmmm... don't suppose you have a different USB cable that fits into the drive?

I will have a look tomorrow, Drac - In the meanwhile I think I will just download a couple of games direct to my C drive

I looked in my computer cupboard and whilst I do have two of the same EHDs, for some strange reason I can only find the one cable, so I have ordered another one.

But what I did find in the computer cupboard, hidden right at the back, was an envelope with £700 in it lol - Goodness knows how long it has been there - I do vaguely remember mislaying some cash a long long time ago!

Oh, my goodness! This might be a very fortuitous problem with the EHD!

Lol, I simply cant believe it myself, and such a large amount of money as well! I would not normally draw such a large amount of cash out normally - I must have withdrawn it for a reason - I have a feeling it must have been there since last year!

Did you say "Open Sesame" or rub an oil lamp when you opened that cupboard? Check again, the pixies may have left more!

I pretty much quit buying games from Big Fish once the were no longer stand-alone apps that could be played on my Mac without "checking in" with Big Fish. I wish you good luck.
