You could run anything you want on another hard drive. When you start the computer, you would have the option to boot into either Windows 7 or Windows 8.

RPS have put together a more detailed piece on Windows 10:

(short version: if you're currently on Windows 8, definitely upgrade; if you're on 7, think about it.)

Really good article, Phlebas. And Ed Bott has updated his article as well.

Me either, Rosaboobie! I was getting "failed updates" errors in my Windows Updates last night though. I'm off right now to see if anything has changed.

Installed mine this morning with no problems. Had to set up Homegroup and Network again, as well as OneDrive, otherwise everything seem to be intact. Took about an hour in all. Some interesting new features which I'm still looking at.

I'm envious, Diat! Nothing here yet... My ISP is coming tomorrow to possible make some adjustments or even replace my broadband dish. It's been giving me fits this week. I think I'll wait until after they've been here to download.

On another note, it appears the issue of WiFi Sense was a case of FUD. Clarification by Ed Bott the tech writer I trust completely.

I've decided not to update to Windows 10. My Asus laptop from 2010 is still functioning well with Windows 7 and I don't want to run into driver issues since Asus does not update their drivers regularly on their laptops. I'll just wait until I'm ready for a new computer upgrade and get the latest Windows version at that time.

BTW, Drac, how do I disable the little icon in my task bar reminding me about the update? I can't see a way to do that.

Cool! Running Windows 10 and loving it! Much closer to Windows 7 than it is to Windows 8.

Still nothing here - what do you think the problem is? It's not even attempting a download!

Check in your updates and then installed updates. I had quite a few "failures" for Windows 10. I finally downloaded it myself. I think Black Dahlia just got her notification yesterday. If you are tired of waiting, you can get it here...
