Since it is getting close to Halloween, I've been on the prowl for Halloween smilies. With the board upgrade recently the ones I had would no longer work. I've had a hard time finding any smilies in general for phpbb. So I am thinking "What?" So I started digging around and saw all this stuff about EMOJI's. When I updated the board one of the perks was EMOJI's. So then I started prowling for information about EMOJI's. And I have to say, I must have been living in the dark for this one. We never need smilies again. When you are typing something, all you have to do is right click in the text box where you are typing and a drop down box appears and you select "emoji".(Sample 1 below) Right there at the top, including the Windows short cut of (Win Period). Then in the box after that (Sample 2 below) you can type in a name to search for an Emoji or select from the topic tabs at the bottom. If you are on an IPAD or IPHONE, you should have a round icon with an emoji smile and you click on that button and your Emoji's will popup. They are also high resolution and look really nice. I can't believe I did not know about Emoji's.

Note: Emojis keyboards come with Windows 10. I also read some browsers don't support them like Firefox in which you would need to add an extension. They do work with Chrome and Edge. The IPAD should also have it but if the Emoji icon is not displaying, you can add an Emoji keyboard in you settings. Lot of info about this in Google.

This is a test from my iPad. I haven’t always had good luck with them appearing outside of text messages.

My older son has a Samsung phone and I have an iPhone. Sometimes when I text emojis, he sees something different than what I sent. The most-used ones generally come out the same, but the more obscure ones don’t always translate.

A perfect example: I put in a round virus and got a paramecium.

Well, you learn something new every day... I knew I had a lot of different emoji's on my phone , but didn't know I had a whole load on my computer . And definitely didn't know I could search for them!

I didn’t know about the emojis on my computer either. That was a fun find. Your post reminded me of the early days of smilies when we wrote posts with almost all smilies to see if anyone could figure out what you were saying.

Haha Ghostlady, that would have been fun! I wish I had thought of that, and left out some words...

On Ellen's Game of Games show, they have a segment where the players have to decode the emoji symbols to make a sentence. Some of them are tough.
