Gwendy's Button Box by Stephen King

Post by Ghostlady »

This is a quickie (Novella) and its somewhat different for Stephen King. More of a coming of age for a young girl, sorta like Joyland, made better, of course, by a button box. She's a chubby girl and this button box pops out a detailed animal chocolate. She eats it and its wonderful and it curbs her appetite. She loses weight, becomes beautiful and popular, all due to the button box. But it also holds a huge power that she alone must control.

Being human totally sucks most of the time.
Videogames are the only thing that make life bearable.
