Into The Darkest Corner by Elizabeth Haynes

Post by Ghostlady »

Ok, I've just finished this book and I have to say I was hooked from the beginning and I couldn't put it down. I read it in a couple of days. It is SO intense! It is DARK and VIOLENT and SEXY, so stay away if you get offended. But I have to say it is the best written story about a controlling, manipulative boyfriend that I've ever read. Highly recommend!

Based on this suggestion, I got it on my kindle right now. And there was no waiting or hold either! so, I will start that this week. I babysit on Monday's and Fridays and when my granddaughter is sleeping, there is nothing else to do but read, so, I will get that going this week. Lord knows, I don't feel like washing her dishes!

I always skip the sex parts in books. There. I said it out loud. The sex parts and the battle scenes. ☺️

I don't mind the sex parts as long as they don't go on for pages and are a part of the story. But if they are just there to tell me they had sex and go on and on and on and what I want is to just get on with the plot, I skip too! The Anita Blake Vampire Hunter series by Laurell K. Hamilton got to where over half the book was sex scenes! My friend John who likes a good sex scene as much as any man even stopped reading her books! Her last couple have been much better. Now, a good vampire vs werewolf battle? THAT I'll read!

In this story, the sex scenes are not just thrown in for the sex. It definitely plays into the plot. This book falls into the genre of books like "The Girl On The Train".

As soon as I've finished the two books I have in my queue, I'm going to get this one!

Into the Darkest Corner was my first read by Elizabeth Haynes. I have another read, Human Remains, from her on hold. Sounds good, about a small town where people pass away, with no one the wiser for quite some time.
