So God gets horny again and has sex with a trailer-trash slut. And begets a daughter this time. In west Texas.
This is the premise of this surprisingly hilarious series of seven books by author H. Claire Thomas, an Austin native. Through the growth of Jessica from kindergarten to adulthood, we see the love/hate relationship she has with her Father as she struggles with just wanting to be a normal girl. He grants her the miracles of making every field goal (yes, she plays Texas HS football), raising the dead and making baked goods gluten free during her course to adulthood.
On the way, we get satire of everything from organized religion to feminism.
Imagine Chuck Palahniuk with a lighter, more feminine touch. (When she gets her period, local pedophiles get struck by lightning.)
If you like satire, four out of five stars.

Ford had formed a theory to account for this strange behavior... if human beings don't keep on exercising their lips, he thought, their brains start working.

That's kinda weird you can't post that word. It seems I can.
