Diat, I am at long last reading Russka - and I just love it - which is just as well cos it is over 900 pages long - I am half way through it already - I have always held a fascination for anying "Russian" since I visited there quite a few years ago. Thank you so much for recommending this book to me.

I wondered if you had read it yet. So pleased you like it, it's a heavy burden to recommend a book to others, leading one to sleepless nights, nail biting and loss of appetite. Strange I haven't lost a single pound so far!

Diat, Russka was great and I have just finised The Forest, which I liked even more. Thanks to you I have found an author I really really like. Now eagerly watchng out for the postie every day to bring me more of the Edward Rutherford books.
