Simon the Sorcerer 3d
Simon the Sorcerer 3d
I just tried playing this game again, and the controls are horrible. I keep running into everything. I was just wondering what it would take for someone to make it into point and click like they did with Grim Fandango? I know it is possible, and that would sure help. Are there fan sites that do that sort of thing? Would the company (hasbro, I think) be willing to look into it? I sure wish it were easier - and also, that arcade scene have a pass button.
Re: Simon the Sorcerer 3d
Hasbro were originally supposed to publish the game but I don't think they did in the end - Adventuresoft published it themselves so I guess they'd still hold the rights. Which increases the chances that the original source code would be available if they did decide to revamp/remake the game, and the engine they used was NetImmerse which became Gamebryo, so there's a relatively recent iteration of a similar engine that might be usable. But it would still be a huge amount of work, and that's not even considering how much of the actual game logic would relate to the original control mechanism. So I'm afraid I wouldn't get your hopes up (unless the first two games get reissued as special editions and sell spectacularly well, in which case who knows?)
