Halloween Approaches!
Re: Halloween Approaches!
Well...I finished Last Crown Midnight Horror and I must say I found it rather mediocre. I also can't get past Jonathan Boakes poor voice acting. Everything just sounds like a declarative sentence with him. It was Halloweeny though
So...Steam has a sale so I just purchased The Room 1, 2 and 3 and Goetia...all for $8.39. So...I will have some atmospheric puzzle games to play...3 of which are not long.

I always thought I was the only one who just couldn't enjoy Boakes' games. I never finished The Lost Crown because of all the trudging around and finally just got bored with it.

I don't think you're alone, Drac. I stick with them once I start them. I stuck with this one because I knew it was short, but with JB being the main voice actor, it was hard.

I felt your pain! Good to know I'm not the odd man out!

Re: Halloween Approaches!
I finished Goetia last night, and I have to say that this is a game that will be with me for a long time. It has a surprising twist, and I plan to play it again to see if there is any foreshadowing that I missed.
Regarding the trick or treaters, we had none. I saw one family walking down a side street in their costumes, but nobody came here. Our town was wise to limit the hours from 2:00 - 7:00 PM, but even then, I think most parents didn't want to risk it. Oh dear. What shall I do with all this chocolate candy?

I saw 71 kids tonite between 6 and 8 pm. Some folks had tables full of candy that they let kids pick from. I handed mine out at the door masked up and using a lot of hand sanitizer. Some kids bypassed my house. I think some parents were only letting kids go to neighbors they knew.
Best costumes were a young lady dressed as Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz, complete with ruby slippers and a young lady dressed as a jelly fish (with a lighted clear umbrella.)
The kids were very polite and loved my lighted Buffalo Bills window sign and my Bills face mask.
One little boy looked up at me and said as fast as he could, "Thank you and Happy Halloween and Go Bills!"
(I don't think he took a breath.)
Quite honestly I didn't feel "endangered" in the least since there was really no contact, and I was glad the kids got to enjoy the holiday. You could tell the kids were very appreciative.

We had one trick or treater. :(
Last night I dreamed I went to Manderley again...
Re: Halloween Approaches!
We don't get trick or treaters as we live out in the country. But my neighbor's two adult daughters brought their babies over dressed in their costumes! One is 16 months old and the other a year old! They were SO adorable! They weren't going anywhere trick or treating at all. Courtney is a COVID ICU nurse and said she sees this every day and is already stressing and having panic attacks about infecting her little guy and her family. So, she said there is no way they were taking even the slightest chance. I told the girls they absolutely made our day by dressing up and walking over! I'm still thinking about it!

Aww. That sounds like the best treat, Drac.

We had two children knock... mum had insisted on buying bags of sweets after running out last year!

I put a big pan of candy by the end of the driveway - like I usually do, as the dogs go crazy when someone knocks on the door. Usually the pan is almost empty at the end of trick or treating but this year, I doubt if we had even 3 kids come. so, I am sure I will gain 10 lbs in the next month eating these 2 large bags of candy that I have left!

I replayed Goetia, which game me a few hints of what was coming, and I purposely didn't get the "good" ending, just to see the difference. I didn't watch all the credits last time, so this time I was surprised to see my own name go by. I had supported it on Kickstarter but had forgotten about it. I'm glad I did.

How cool is that! I don't think that's ever happened to me. Goetia is quite an interesting game - a tad off the beaten path.
