Mod for The Longest Journey

Ghostlady was asking, so I dug up a recent post from Flotsam over at GB. He had run across a mod for The Longest Journey.

And this from GB member GamingPhreak who tried it.

It uses whatever Windows desktop resolution you are using, which for most people nowadays is 1920x1080. That's a big improvement since the original game runs at 640x480 only. Other than resolution, character models look much smoother than the blocky ones in the original game. Background graphics and cut scenes are also more detailed, but to a lesser extent since upscaling them doesn't work as well on them. But the biggest improvement is that the game is now less prone to crashes and other compatibility issues on modern PCs.

Darn - replayed this about 3 months ago - wish now I had waited for this download. Amazing difference.

I replayed it earlier in the year with the Mod and it was great.

Make sure to install both although they are quite big files esp the FMV one.

I remember when Judy/Hawka and I played this one. We couldn't decide if we loved it or hated it because of all the trudging around as we called it!

Man, that's one person I still miss terribly. I think it's been 5 years since she passed away.

I miss her too. She's still here as a member and when I was cleaning up the game saves and putting them on html, I found saves she had sent me. I know I've used some of them too.

Did you all install this on Windows 10?

From what I understand, yes. But I'm not sure. Let me see what I can find out from GamingPhreak at GB.

Ok. I gave it a shot, spent 30 minutes or more installing from the cds and then it burped with Directx7 saying my system was not compatible or something of that nature. I didn’t get the error msg before I clicked on something and then it went away.

Didn't Lucien say he played it with the mod? I'm still waiting on a reply from GamingPhreak.

He did but I don’t know what OS he used.

And another question... did you install from original discs or was it from GOG?
