Games For Grabs

Post by Ghostlady »

I was going through my old boxes of computer games and found a handful that I no longer want, nor will ever re-play. If you would like to have them, I would be happy to mail them to you (within the US). Otherwise I am dropping them off at a donation center.

That’s generous GhostLady - are there still people out who collect boxed games? I no longer have the room. I must whittle my collection of game CDs which I’m never going to play again or can’t play due to operating system changes.

I don't know if people still collect them. I know they still play them though. I still have a Windows 98 machine and Windows Millennium machine so I still can play my really old games. :)

That's really the way to do it... keep around on old Windows 98 computer!

It's funny that I was just watching part of a playthrough of Salammbo. It's one of those adventure games with RPG turn-based elements for the battle scenes but still mostly an adventure. Unfortunately, none of the games are Mac compatible.

You need to find yourself an old computer Lady K. I remember your struggle in the past with games not Mac compatible.

Yes, but there are so many more now that I doubt I'll get caught up with my backlog in this lifetime. :)

If anyone is interested in playing The Vampire Diaries I have a copy that I can share. It was the very first Nancy Drew game and was made in 1996 so you would need to know how to get it to run or use an older computer.

Here is some interesting history about the game.

I found an old box of games that are in CD's only. Lots from the 90's and some really hard to find if you are a collector.
I Have No Mouth, and I Must Scream is one and Cassandra Galleries is another. I always question myself if I should keep them or not. So far I've held on.

I own and have played both of those, GL, but thanks for the offer. I also got a nice boxed copy of The Cassandra Galleries from Jen when she was unloading all her old games. I Have No Mouth and I Must Scream is now available for download at GOG for a very reasonable rate.
