Playing Creaks from Aminata

Post by draclvr »

I'm really loving this game. It has the artwork and bizarre characters I've come to adore in their games. The "language" spoken has become nearly recognizable to me after a few hours into the game! It's essentially an adventure when the main character is beset by the ground shaking and light bulbs breaking. You descend below your room into a strange world inhabited by bird creatures, a monster and evil furniture! The puzzles were easy to begin with, but I've needed a video walkthrough for the last few. It's a matter of outwitting the dogs, octopus things, beings that will kill you with their pointy hair and other weird characters.

Really loving it!

I see you are enjoying this, Drac. When I first saw the video of it, it reminded me a little of the Mario games. Where you have to jump over things and dodge things.

The jumping is just going over cracks and jumping down. There is no skill or "action" involved. The game is controlled by the arrow, space and CRTL keys on a keyboard which is different from the old point and click. I actually prefer the new keyboard controls.

I am towards the end of the game and in addition to evil mechanical dogs which turn into furniture, I now have goats! I am so loving this game...quirky characters, beautiful environment and puzzles which make my brain hurt!

Just finished Creaks. Just in time as I have another rush of tomatoes to make something out of - chili sauce this time. Creaks is going to be an immediate replay when I have time as I'll never figure out those puzzles by myself the second time either! I'm just not ready to leave that little world yet.
