What Adventure Game Are You Playing
Re: What Adventure Game Are You Playing
Have been playing Nancy Drew Ghost at Thornton Hall. Very spooky game. Perfect for this time of year!
Re: What Adventure Game Are You Playing
Good call. I may play that next for a spooky one. I started it at one time but didn’t get to finish. I think work took over. Right now playing ND Ransom of the Seven Ships.

I had started it last year on my Windows 7 laptop. Then I got my Windows 10 laptop in December of last year and never got back to it.

Let me know if you like it.

I'm loving it! Story is good. Great voice acting. Spooky atmosphere. Lots of strange things happening that you catch from time to time. Puzzles are good. Nothing timed so far. Southern manor setting is right up your alley.

Re: What Adventure Game Are You Playing
I'm currently replaying Lighthouse: The Dark Being and am really taking my time to enjoy it. It has held up well over the years. Ken Williams, who has just written a book about his experiences with Sierra, popped in to answer questions about it over at AG. He said that Lighthouse was their response to Myst. It didn't do as well as Myst, of course, but it has that wonderful fantasy quality I love.
By the way, Anna's Quest would be a good game to play this time of year. The game has tons of references to Grimm's fairy tales, and not the nice versions of them. There are ghosts, witches, a magic mirror, and many other creepy characters. It has a sense of humor but also some sadness. The puzzles are designed well for the most part, and a couple are very clever.

Recently finished a replay of Book of Unwritten Tales as part of a Discord group play.
It's a fun game if a tad long.

I just finished Agent A. It was a good little puzzler. Now to decide, finish BS5, or start Sinking Island.

Update on Nancy Drew Ghost at Thornton. manor. If you like puzzles, there are some good ones in this game. I'm playing on Master level...they are challenging but doable. I have missed a couple hotspots that has paused my progress twice...but the game play is straight forward. And...still spooky even late in the game. If you have not as yet played this game....play it!
Re: What Adventure Game Are You Playing
Good to know, JK. I'll be playing it for sure now.

Just finished Ghost at Thornton Hall. One of the best Nancy Drew games ever. Some really good puzzles! I can't recommend it more highly!

Wow, didn't expect a review like that. Now I am intrigued.

I just started the game The Room 1. It's a nice puzzle with a built in hint system that nudges you along as you are figuring out how to open intricate puzzle boxes. So far I'm enjoying it!
Re: What Adventure Game Are You Playing
I liked Ghost of Thornton Hall.
I thought it was the "spookiest" Nancy Drew game I ever played.
So a good one for around Halloween.
