Nancy Drew Midnight in Salem
Re: Nancy Drew Midnight in Salem
I know the games are well loved. It’s really bad to produce a game and not have technical support or people not getting their games and losing money. That’s bad business. I agree there aren’t as many
’s but the game doesn’t deserve awful reviews. I think they did a pretty good job.

I didn’t realize there were so many years between this game and the last. I recently went on EBAY and picked up all the ones I missed the last few years. You can’t purchase the older games on HerInteractive anymore. Always sold out.

Are there timed puzzles? I think that was what threw me off playing ND in the past and have avoided them ever since. Quite honestly though it was so long ago that I may be wrong about the reasons for stopping.
However see it is now on Steam and within my budget so am tempted to try one last time.

Re: Nancy Drew Midnight in Salem
I think those were mostly on the early games. I just played Tomb of the Lost Queen and there were no timed sequences. Its been awhile for me playing games so I don't want to lead you in the wrong direction. Let me know which one you want to play and I'll look at a walkthrough for you to see if there are any. That way you want get any spoilers. JKEerie may be of help too.

Hi Val...Give it a go. Towards the end of the game, there is one puzzle that if you fail 4 times the room collapses. It's just a question of interpreting a clue and pressing the right bricks. I screwed it up several times but you get the classic Nancy Drew "do-over" so you learn from your mistakes. Also Nancy has to escape tunnels or drown. Under my control she "bought the farm" several times before I got her out safely. So...even though there is a timed element as the water rises, you simply learn what moves are successful and which are not and write it down.

Re: Nancy Drew Midnight in Salem
Thanks for the advice guys! GL I think if I do it will be the latest one but please don't spend time looking for me - I will take it as I find it if I decide. Think I may have tackled more difficult games in the past couple of years, too, and maybe my fears re Nancy are unfounded after all this time.
Will let you know how I get on.
Just downloaded Truberbrook - a game I have been wanting to get for a long time. After that we will see. Possibly Nancy will be a piece of cake after it!

I am halfway through and it’s a piece of cake so no fears, Val.

Nice to know GL! Thanks!
Re: Nancy Drew Midnight in Salem
I tried but the movement sets off my motion sickness. So diasappointed because I love Nancy Drew and have been waiting for this game.

Yes, I read several complaints about that. One individual was so determined to play the game, she took an anti-motion sickness medication so she could play!

Re: Nancy Drew Midnight in Salem
I could probably play it in small blocks, but it just makes me feel miserable and like I am about to get a migraine... If it didn't have the looking up and down it might be better.
