Yay for you, wish it was me. Oregon has received over 100k doses, and only 20k people have been vaccinated. It’s pitiful. Oregon is run by a bunch of useless milksops. In my opinion.

It is not a good omen that a backwards state like Missouri is doing better than Oregon!

It will be March or April before I get mine.

I had two days of side effects on the second shot. Sore arm, headache, muscles aches, fatigue. Today I feel like new again.

I figure that is a small price to pay! I've read the second vaccine is when the immune reactions really kick in. All we've had with the first one is a sore arm. At first I thought it was from throwing 2 bales of hay over the tops of the stalls in the older barns at the horse rescue! Caretaker has a back injury, so I'm doing the night closing again and am feeding 16 horses at night. But when I got up to pee at 3:00 am, the arm REALLY hurt and I figured out the vaccine was the culprit. Much better this morning.

Never thought I would be this excited to get a vaccine! Hubby and I got our second COVID vaccines yesterday. We feel quite lucky and up until they poked me, I was nervous that they would cancel the appointments for lack of the vaccines. I have had no side effect other than a mild sore arm - it wasn't even as bad as the first one. Dave has a headache and some body aches. I almost wish I WOULD get some side effects!

Had a video chat with our German family today. Germany is still shut down tight, tight, tight. Their vaccine station will be open on February 15 and Guenter will be taking his Aunt Trudel and Uncle Herbie for their first shots. Trudel is 95 and Herbie is 83. Over there once the got all the health care workers and nursing home residents vaccinated, then they went to those over 80. Neither Trudel or Herbie have any other family, so Guenter does everything for them.

They have a foot of snow and it's very cold there. Rosaboobie and I talked today and she has a good foot of snow and it's REALLY cold in Northern Scotland too!

I finally was able to book both of my Covid doses through Walgreens. The first one is this Thursday evening at 6:45 pm. It's a local Walgreens, too, so I don't have to drive miles and miles to get there. The vaccine supply is definitely getting better!

Yay for you, JKEerie! We are 3 weeks out from our second vaccines and are considered fully vaccinated. We won't be stopping wearing masks and social distancing, but have started to go out on Friday nights to the local restaurants to eat. It's been nice! Have even stopped at the American Legion for a couple of beers, but I won't be spending time there unless I have to because they still allow smoking and most of the people there are COVID deniers and anti-maskers.

I registered my sister and myself, but it doesn't look like we'll be getting the vaccine anytime soon. The demand still exceeds supply, especially here in Ocean county because of all the retirement communities. Johnson & Johnson has teamed up with Merck to ramp up production of J & J's vaccine, so hopefully that will allow production to move faster. At this point, I will take what I can get.

I hope it's soon for you. It's quite a liberating feeling, although we haven't stopped being very careful.

With Johnson & Johnson onboard, things should start moving faster. It helps that it is only one does also.

I agree GL. I'm watching the press conference now with Pres. Biden and the presidents of J&J and Merck. Distribution through the pharmacies is certainly helping for those over 65. You just have to know which pharmacies are offering the vaccine in each state and area of the state. I finally realized I needed to concentrate my daily searches through Walgreens as the other pharmacies (Rite Aid and CVS) were not serving our area of the state. The NY state website also didn't offer that much in our area, and when a mass vaccine site did open, the slots were filled quickly by essential workers and underserved populations. NY has now opened up an additional category of eligibility...which to my mind is increasing the anxiety of the elderly as they are struggling to locate available vaccine appointments as it is.
