The little things in life

I petted a hairless cat once, and it was the softest kitty I ever touched. Hairless cats do have hair, it’s just very fine and short. Like peach fuzz, only softer. That’s one of my little experiences that make life worth living

What have been some of your small pleasures?

That's neat, Jen. I've seen pictures but have never met a hairless cat.

Some of my small pleasures:
Opening a new book for the first time
Having a big cup of Sleepytime tea while reading in bed
The ritual of filling a fountain pen with bottled ink
Listening to Pachebel's Canon when I'm feeling tense or Orff's Carmina Burana when I need energy

some of the little things in life that make me happy are having the doors open in the summer and hearing kids' laughter. I like the sounds of a lawnmower - probably because I love summer though. I love the smell of new-mown hay. I love seeing my first robin in the spring. I love seeing the first rose-breasted grosbeak on my feeder in the spring. I love hugs and kisses from my grandkids. I love a good belly laugh at something funny. It doesn't take money or anything grandiose to make me happy - it is the little things.

Something that always makes me grin stupidly is booties on dogs. Dog booties are one of the top cutest things ever.

There are wild rabbits all over one beach that I go to, so bunnies at the beach. Here’s a picture of some babies from a couple years ago.
