Physically, I can't do that kind of work anymore, so I did pay to have my floors redone last year. Quite a bit of the subfloor also had to be replaced, so I'm glad I didn't even attempt to tackle it myself.

Good decision! I need some painting done and I'm also hiring it. This involves a stairwell with at least 12 feet ceilings! I did all the drywall work on a 12" wide 2 x 12 suspended on a step and a ladder! Nope, not doing THAT again! Twenty year of age takes its toll!

I had my whole house interior painted 2 yrs ago...walls, ceiling and trim. I'm at the age I'm at. I have the money. I think of it as stimulating the economy.

There you go! It's Saturday night and I'm heading down to the Rescue Ranch to do the night closing. We had a horrible livestock trailer wreck a couple of months ago in our county. It was full of horses being transported down to Mexico for slaughter. On a very cold rainy night, the trailer overturned on the interstate. There were 29 horses. Most were killed outright or had to be put down on site. We had 14, but I think we're down to 13 now as we couldn't save one. I have to feed 12 horses tonight at 10:00! One is a giant thoroughbred named Legacy. Everyone loves him. I'm closing for a week and after two nights I've fallen in love with him! He is still very thin, so gets hay, but would rather put his head on my chest so I can scratch his ears than eat!

It's cold and dark, but I call that a good Saturday night in the middle of a pandemic!

Good for you Drac! Think he has fallen in love with you too. Enjoy the rest of the week with him but take care on the cold and dark roads.

Luckily I only have 3/4 mile to the road down to the Ranch on the main road. But then it's a little over a mile down a private gravel twisty hilly drive to the Ranch. Then I have to enter a code to open the huge metal security gates! Then I've got 160 acres of dark and 6 barns and horses and donkeys and chickens and pigs and goats to check on!

Hope your big guy hubby comes with you! The 160 acres of dark is what worries me! :)

Legacy sounds like a sweet boy and happy to be cared for and safe. It's ironic that his fate and that of the other rescues would have been so different if that crash hadn't happened.

The horses are fortunate that the ranch took them in. I'm sure they are getting great care.Thank you for all you do there.

We are the only facility in several states that can handle this number and level of injuries. We only got custody of them a couple of weeks ago.
