covid
covid
Hubby's mom is in the hospital and she tested positive for Covid. so, we have to quarantine now too until Hubby gets tested. so, no babysitting for me this week. I sure don't know how she got covid as she had a stroke and only goes out with her son (hubby) like twice a month.
Re: covid
Oh, that's so scary, mbday. I sure hope she is one who can recover. My DIL is also in quarantine and her entire assessor's office with the city is shut down because of an exposure.
Please keep us posted on your MIL.

Re: covid
I hope your mom-in-law will be okay, Mbday, and your husband and you test negative, too.

Re: covid
thank you all! She is 87 years old and so this is very harrowing. Hubby will get tested on Monday and if he is positive, then I will get tested too. we are just hunkering down in our house. thank goodness that I have a lot of games to play!
Re: covid
mbday, can we assume your MIL and your husband are OK?
Just found out last night that we've been exposed to COVID. Husband's son works at the big electrical power plant near here and he was up in a high lift and suddenly couldn't breathe. They brought him down and he couldn't even get up. They administered oxygen and transported him to the local hospital where he was admitted. DIL called and he tested positive for COVID. Crap. Problem is, he was out here briefly Saturday and Sunday. Dave had called him to help with his tractor. I didn't know it because they were outside, but he wasn't feeling well then. He SHOULD have told his dad he couldn't come out because he didn't feel well, but I guess he just got careless. We won't do much different here because we have been hunkered down and getting most everything delivered.

Re: covid
Oh, we definitely know. Testing is STILL - after 8 months - in short supply here. Stepson will be receiving the plasma therapy, but won't be released until he can hold his own with the O2 levels. The plasma therapy is kind of hit and miss, but I do have a good friend that it worked for when nothing else would. She was at the point of intubation - after being ambulanced from a smaller local hospital to the large hospital in Sioux Falls, SD - when they decided to at least try it. She appears to have moderate to severe lung damage 3 months later and she is a big healthy Dutch gal with zero pre-existing conditions.

It sounds like your stepson got hit hard. I hope he recovers completely, and you and your husband stay virus free.

Re: covid
We voted today and I made a stock-up run in town, so we are good to go for now. This is same old/same old for me, but it's going to be harder for Dave to have zero contact with anyone! The only place I go is down to the Rescue Ranch to deliver packages. We had another horrible stock trailer wreck on the interstate - 29 horses and so far only 13 survived. They were on their way down to Mexico for slaughter. People are ordering stuff from their wish list at Amazon and I get all the packages here because the UPS route goes by after they close the big electronic iron gates. But I just run them in the barn and leave.

Drac, I hope your stepson is okay. My MIL is still in the hospital. They are giving her plasma but, it doesn't seem to be helping. We are still pretty much hunkered down at our house too - but, I still have to babysit 2 days a week. Hopefully we all stay healthy.
