Re: Hurricane Laura
My brother and a nephew live in Houston. The hurricane is now a category 4 and still has many hours over warm water, so it's going to be a strong one when it comes ashore.

Re: Hurricane Laura
Just wanted to give you an update. We got very lucky here in Houston. The storm veered East and had a direct hit at the Texas Louisiana State Line. It went though Beaumont, which is an area that produces 45% of the oil in the US. I haven't seen the damages yet from that area due to the storm hitting around 2:00 am. The storm hit land as a Cat 4. Before I went to bed the wind was 150 mph. Please keep every person affected in your thoughts and prayers. I've been through similar storms, Ike and Harvey, and the devastation is heartbreaking. Living along the Gulf with that much oil production, the waters are really polluted with toxins. After a storm surge as big as the one Laura had, that toxic water on the land ruins the land for many many years. I saw this after Harvey and so many people getting sick afterwards with asthma, allergies, cancers from walking in the water, etc. Terrible.
Last night I dreamed I went to Manderley again...

Ah awful!! Glad you are safe. Have watched videos on YouTube about the devastation. Just hope the oilfields haven't been hit too badly. Holding thumbs. ♥♥
Re: Hurricane Laura
GL...Are you in danger of any flooding with Beta?
Re: Hurricane Laura
We didn't get any flooding in our neighborhood. Houston got hit with a lot of flooding but we live 30 miles out of the city. We got lucky.
