Just thinking
Re: Just thinking
What a lovely thing to do for her - and for yourself, for that matter. Where are you going to scatter the ashes?

Re: Just thinking
Mum's wishes were to be scattered at sea - I have to find a secluded spot near the sea, as I really dont want an audience when I do this - I didnt sleep a wink last night - I was walking around the entire coastline of Jersey in my mind, trying to find such a spot.
Oh, I have just had a brilliant thought - we used to go here at weekends sometimes for a snack or an ice cream - I think it will be perfect, so long as there are not too many people around.

Re: Just thinking
It's been a very busy and tiring three days for me. I travelled 13 hours nonstop, 5 airports, 4 flights on Wednesday, a whole day in Jersey on Thursday where I had several meetings, and picked up the last of Mum's belongings, and returned yesterday with the same long itinerary as Wednesday.
I forgot it was already the tourist season in Jersey, so St Catherine's Breakwater was a no no, as far too many people around. I did however find a secluded beach very close by, and if you take a look at my photo, I scattered Mum's ashes on the very far right of the photo on a tiny shale beach of about 5 metres long - it was high tide and I sat on the bench and meditated for a while.

Oh, that's even more beautiful. A lovely final resting place for your mother.

That is the perfect spot, RB. I'm glad you had some time to sit and reflect before having to make the long trip home.
I’m more confused than a chameleon in a bagful of Skittles.

Very nice, Rosy! Looks like the perfect spot!
Re: Just thinking
That looks like a really good spot RB. Now to get home to the fur babies and start your life in Rogart (well, soon anyway). Best of luck with the moving.

29 days to Moving Day, Linda!
This is what I brought back from Jersey - two of which completey filled my rucksack and the other two filled a small case - they seemed to weigh a ton by the end of my journey.
And I also found a hand-written journal of Mum's - about 50 pages long - I have not had time to read it yet, so I have no idea what it is about!

Re: Just thinking
Well I have just quickly read the first 6 pages of Mum's journal - very interesting - all to do with what the soldiers had to contend with when they came back from the Great War - very distressing to read about - she sure had a talent for writing, that's for sure!

How interesting... You may also find out some things about your mother you never knew! I know she was a difficult woman, but perhaps the journal will shed some light.

I wish, Drac - there are so so many questions left unanswered in my Family Tree, and nobody left to answer them!
