Roadside Art
Roadside Art
My daughter is travelling from St. Louis to the Grand Canyon (on the back of a motorcycle!) and just sent in these photos. Question: is it Art? I rather think so. I think it's called bowling alley art.

I'd stop for a closer look, I like stuff like that. Did she happen to mention why it was there?
Re: Roadside Art
Well it's different! Better than most graffiti on walls. As a diversion I quite like it.
Artists with a capital A would define Art as anything they choose to call Art it be it a pile of bricks or unmade bed.

"Unmade Bed". Now just what would you be thinking of, Kickaha? A certain Tracy Emin? I guess if it makes you look then it's Art of a sort. Rather makes me think of cave drawings for some reason. And, no, Stella, I think they just happened on this.
Re: Roadside Art
Interesting.. don't think I've ever seen anything like it. Did she say where it was at? It looks like Texas!

Well, they had traveled from St.Louis, through Dodge City and were just about to cross into Colorado, so probably somewhere along 400 in Kansas. They've now arrived at the Grand Canyon so I'm hoping for some good pics there.

Yup, it must have been Kansas. Interstate 70 is what I've taken across Kansas and there wasn't anything like that along that highway, so they must be taking a different route.

There are a lot of political statements in the mix, but I suspect that's the point of it all.

I noticed that too, LadyK!

Re: Roadside Art
I found the swastikas rather disturbing, especially in view of all the political upheaval right now.

It's unfortunate that the Nazis corrupted that ancient symbol that was positive in many of the Eastern religions and art. The fact that the artist put combat boots on the swastika and tilted it gives it a menacing message to me.

I just loved "S"'s cow! Don't know whether it is political or not but it brought a smile to my dial!
