I hope everyone is enjoying this Memorial Day! It's a gorgeous sunny warn day here in east central Missouri. While you are enjoying your BBQ, picnic, camping and other activities, please take a moment to remember what this day is really about. At our American Legion Post we honor our fallen service members with a parade, a memorial service and then serve a meal of fried chicken and BBQ pork steaks. My husband does all the fried chicken and on Saturday shepherded his group of young and old around to all the cemeteries to put flags on the graves of all the service members. We especially like the youngsters to learn more about honoring our men and women in uniform.

That is so great, Drac! The younger generations need to be reminded of the many brave men and women and what they fought and died for.
