Yes, I was wondering about your CT scan too, LadyK. Your conservatory is beautiful and very festive, Rosaboobie!

I got my new living room furniture today, so that is my Christmas present. I got new carpeting a couple of months ago and so now my living room looks fairly decent. I told hubby that HE CANNOT SMOKE now in the house. when we took out our old furniture, the years of smoke looked so ugly on the old stuff and I don't want this new stuff looking like that. but, I really doubt he will smoke outside. he is such a hardcore smoker, I doubt he can change. but, I love the looks of this new stuff and it is so nice to feel proud of the stuff that I have in the room. It has been a long time since I felt proud of how my house looked.

Oh, gads, I can't imagine allowing anyone to smoke in my house - no matter who it is! You cannot get the reek out of anything including the paint on the walls! Isn't there a sheltered place outside he can smoke?

gosh, Drac, I wish. I have nagged and begged for years that he smoke outside, to no avail. and yes, it permeates everything! when I wash the windows near where he smokes, there is a yellow film. the woodwork around the windows is yellow from his smoke. If you can think of something to say or do that would make him smoke outside, please let me know. I have tried everything.

Lol you have to be more firm with him mbday - even the ex would not smoke in the house - after he fell asleep with a cigarette in his hand in my Jersey cottage - I walked in and the carpet was smouldering!

Sorry to hear about your dental woes. I think the coffee baileys is an excellent prescription until the issue is resolved! :)

I haven't gotten the results of my test yet, but the pain has subsided, so it may be muscle related after all.

Your place looks lovely, RB! Best wishes with those extractions.

Well, we have had such bad weather here the last few days that it was touch and go whether I would ever get to my dentist appointment today - we were the only island not to get our ferry cancelled - the ferry journey was very very hairy with a lot of very pale faces - and so I arrived at the dentist on time at 11 a.m. and it was all systems go for the 6 teeth to be removed and the new partial denture put in place - it all went very very smoothly and it is only now at 20.30 that I am starting to feel the effects of the day. The bonus to all this is that I was actually able to walk around and do some Christmas grocery shopping before I boarded the ferry. My friends and neighbours Jo and Jeff offered to escort and drive me around, which was really nice of them, and I think I am now off for a very early night to recuperate!

Sounds like the ferry ride was a lot scarier than the dentist, Rosy! Glad that you were able to get it taken care of. Here's to a speedy and painless recovery!

Let's hope you get through the night okay, RB!

I got the results of my CAT scan and everything looks good. The doctor suspects it's a strained muscle after all. It still twinges a bit, and I have to avoid any heavy lifting until it subsides completely. Luckily, my little Christmas tree is very light. :santa:

good news, LadyK. I am getting overwhelmed with Christmas. It seems like I can't keep things straight. I hid my cookies in the outside storage bin and I hid my Christmas beef jerky in the cupboard in the garage. Will I remember???? I am too old to do Christmas anymore.

Great news about the scan results, LadyK!

Well here in Orkney we are battening down our hatches and preparing for Storm Barbara to hit us tomorrow and Saturday - winds of 90 mph have been forecast - which means once again the ferries wont run, and many flights have already been cancelled - It's a real nightmare for those people travelling to be with loved ones over the festive period.

Don't feel bad mbday. I hid our Elf on the shelf from the grandkids so well, I forgot where I hid it. Took the kids 3 days to find it! :D

I also put my Skype camera away for safe keeping, and it seems it's very safe, somewhere!

Then I bought silver wrapping paper for Christmas presents, and somehow left it in the cart when I loaded up the car. Hope someone enjoys their free Christmas wrap! :santa:
