Well, Friday was the last of my injections and after the Doctor gave me my third rabies injection - appreciate that I had to pay £150/$183 for the 3 rabies injections - she said to me "You do know that these rabies shots will NOT protect you from catching rabies" - I kid you not - 2 different Doctors gave me my first and second rabies shots, and at no time did they so much as mention this very important aspect to me! Apparently all these shots do is buy you just a little time so that you can get to a city where they hopefully have the rabies treatment. Note to self - do NOT on any account approach or touch any sort of animal when in India

1 Day, 14 hours, 39 minutes, and 20 seconds before I leave home for the ferry, and my first leg of my journey - but who's counting lol!

I have been so very busy recently - just coming to the end of decluttering my house - that I am really looking forward to a relaxing day on mainland Orkney on Monday, and another relaxing day in London on Tuesday.

Jo, the hairdresser, came to my house yesterday - cut and dyed my hair - I am almost ready, except for weighing my suitcase, which I will do tomorrow morning.

Have a wonderful time and be careful about the water you drink and the milk! A friend of mine learnt the hard way not to trust the milk being pasturised and ended up on a drip. Ditto check bottled water carefully. Otherwise she had a great time and I hope you have too. Looking forward so much to seeing some pictures of your trip. Hope the hotels have wifi!! Bon Voyage!!!!

Good advice, Val, thanks a lot - however I will NOT put milk anywhere near my lips, not even in the UK - warm milk fed to me as a school child (milk bottles warmed in front of a coal fire, now I am REALLY showing my age!) put me off milk for life. And yes, I must check the seals on the water bottles too.

I have just weighed my suitcase and it says it is only 15 kgs - my baggage allowance is 23 kgs - so I am wondering if my bathroom scales or my digital luggage scales are wrong - which means I will be stressing out until I hit the first Airport weigh-in on Tuesday morning in case my luggage is indeed over the limit!

Go weigh it at your neighbours! If similar then your mind will be at ease. That's what I would do.

Well, Jeff kindly came round with his bathroom scales, and I do indeed only have 15 kgs in my case. This has to be the first time in my entire life that I have been 8 kgs under the baggage limit.
