Sanday getting too popular!
For some strange reason, Sanday has become an increasingly popular place to live in the past year. We have increased our population from 550 to about 650! On the plus side, young families moving here means that our wonderful local School remains a viable project, unlike some of our sister islands where schools have been forced to close because of the low number of pupils.

Excellent, Rosy! Doesn't hurt your property values either!

I hear yah, Rosy! I hope to never move again either. You just never know, though, and it sure beats property values going down.

Just so long as they don't start building ugly modern McMansions!

As long as it doesn't get too overcrowded it is good news!

Re: Sanday getting too popular!
That is precisely what we are all worried about, Val, because that is a very high percentage of newcomers, compared to the previous population. Most of us moved here for peace and quiet, and we would like to maintain that here, if possible.

Interesting. Where are all these newcomers living? Have they bought or rented existing properties?
