Draclvr in Hospital!
Re: Draclvr in Hospital!
I know, Winfrey. I'm still kind of sweating that out!
I found out that I had what is called da Vinci laparoscopic surgery which is a robot! Dave said at one point they came out and told him the robot was working on me... OK, what the hell does THAT mean! So I looked it up and this is just SO very interesting. I had 5 little robotic arms in me that the surgeon was manipulating. Check it out here...

Wow! Very cool, Drac! Dang...I just got a human with a scalpel.

Maybe after a while, but usually with abdominal wounds or surgery, they tell you to avoid stairs and steep hills for a few weeks (and also lifting and pushing/pulling things) because you can tear the stitches.

Jude, they told me steps were OK the same day I got home, so I've been doing them with no problems at all. I think they are actually doing me some good - especially given the blood clots in the legs history. But definitely no lifting etc! I definitely won't be bowling for a long time!
JK... when I click on the link I am taken to www.davincisurgery.com with an extension for the surgical system itself.

Drac...no I was able to see the surgery in the link. I meant when I had my surgery years ago, I just got a human with a scalpel. LOL!
Re: Draclvr in Hospital!
Oh, sorry! I thought the link wasn't working for you!

Glad to hear you are recovering well, Drac!

Re: Draclvr in Hospital!
Had my post-op appointment today. All the pathology was very good. All the lymph nodes he biopsied were clear and the “borderline” tumor itself has a very, very low possibility of every coming back or even being malignant. So no treatment at all is required. I will be doing a CA125 blood test every 6 months or so, but I don’t have to go back to see him for 6 months!
Now, I just need to start building my strength back up. This lack of activity has just not been good for my mind, body or soul! Going to start walking down to the edge of the woods a couple of times a day. Also had Dave start bring over the onions and garlic so I can start working them up a little at a time too.

Fantastic news Drac!! You will soon be as fit as you were before all this happened!! At least your arm muscles will be getting stronger with all those onions and garlic to process.- LadyKestrel

That must be a load off your mind, Drac! I'm so glad this worked out for you.
