I'm on LinkedIn, not always sure why I'm on it, but I do receive communications from recruiters every so often. The latest one I received was from Amazon itself, who are doing neat stuff with voice recognition. For a brief moment I thought this could be a good job to round off my working existence . . .
And then I replied to the Amazon recruiter asking him if he realised I was sixty, and never heard anything more. It's a given of the computer industry that it is ageist, I'm not very surprised. While people my age may have lots of experience it may not be experience in the latest fads - and we're less likely to work stupid hours.
Amazon calling
Re: Amazon calling
My son would sympathize with you. He's 58 and has been trying to find a new computer related job in his field for the past year. He gets interviews but no offers. The worst is getting an interview then not hearing anything at all, just being left clueless.

Re: Amazon calling
I simply hate ageism at any level.
