BBC programme "Springwatch"
Sanday was featured for 6 minutes on this extremely popular tv show last evening. Watch the film and be jealous of where I live

That was so interesting about the kelp. Isn't there one of the islands that has a herd of sheep that survives on the kelp along?

What an interesting film, RB! It is a beautiful place. We get sanderlings on our beaches here, and it's fun to watch them scooting around avoiding the waves. We also get ruddy turnstones, and they literally turn over stones and shells looking for delicacies.

Yes, Drac, the sheep on North Ronaldsay live mainly on the kelp on the sea shore - You are very knowledgeable about our islands!

I've read and watched several things since you moved there - I find the place so very interesting!

that was so interesting. I thought when he was in the kelp under water that a big snake or something was going to come out and scare him. I know that is what I would be thinking. You live in a very interesting part of the world RB and I am so glad that you are there, enjoying life, and feeling safe.

Brought back memories of my youth RB.
Used to snorkel in the kelp forest during school holidays and it really is just like a magical forest. Mine used to have the odd row boat on the sea bed to add to the magic.

Rosaboobie, you would first need to be able to download it to your computer as a file. You might contact the TV station and ask them if there is a way you could get a copy of it.

What I was going to suggest. Tried to rightclick but there was no option to save or download. If you have BBC iPlayer you could watch it again and I think you can download from there. You could, perhaps, try with the iPlayer.

Downloads only go onto the I-Player, Val, and not onto the PC itself - I cant see any way of copying them from the I-Player - never mind.
I think it would be most difficult to get a copy from the BBC itself, Drac.
I am going to get in touch with the photographer/cameraman, Raymond Besant, who actually shot the film - I might have more luck with him.

I looked at the Player for Season 12 Episode 3 for June and, although admittedly I ran through it quickly, I couldn't see the Sanday segment. If it is this episode I may be able to get it for you.
