I grew up in Newfoundland Boobie. It'a an island separate from Canada in the middle of the ocean. I'm the only Canadian in the family, everyone else was born before Confederation, so they consider themselves British subjects

My people were from Harbour Breton, Starlite but emigrated to Montreal. My Dad said people from Newfie either went to Boston or Montreal - guess we just got lucky!

Back in time, many Jersey descendants emigrated to Gaspe, I think in the 19th or early 20th century.

My seat on the cruise has been officially confirmed now - unfortunately I will have to bunk in with a stranger - much prefer my own privacy when on holiday - I feel sorry for whoever shares with me as I snore (and snort like a pig) when asleep!

Well, I am not going all that way just for 12 days so I asked the travel agent if there were any holiday extensions I could add on, but unfortunately it's too early in the year, so my second thought is to take a short trip to either Canada or the U.S. I might even go visit Dragon in Chertsey, if she will have me!

Missouri can also be on your destination list as a place to visit! What will you do with the pups while you are gone?

My son is presently living in an RV in Vancouver. I'm sure he'd be delighted to put you up.

Diat, that's very kind of you but the travel agent already offered me a trip to Vancouver but I have been there already and although I loved it, I dont want to go again.

Oh, and the pups will stay at home - they wont like it on their own, but a much better option than going into kennels. And they just love Auntie JoJo who will be looking after them.

Rosa, I was joking! It would take a huge stretch of imagination to picture you in Paul's RV, parked as it is between 2 active railway lines, and sharing bachelor digs. He assures me he does eat fruit and veg - occasionally.

Whoop, whoop - Just been told by the travel agent that a single lady has just signed up for the cruise, so now I have my cabin partner, and she is 65 years young, so that is great news
