Alaska Cruise May 2017

Post by Rosaboobie »

A couple of weeks ago, I received an email shot advertising an Alaskan Cruise for next Spring. I saw this about 3 hours after it was sent out but by the time I responded, it was already too late as Naturetrek had received an overwhelming response and there were only 10 berths available. Now this is something I have always wanted to do - take an Alaskan cruise in a small cruise ship all around the bays. No big cruise liners for me - in fact that would be my worse nightmare to be "trapped" on one of those huge liners!

Imagine my surprise today to be told that several people on the waiting list above me had dropped out, and that I had been allocated a space, if I still wanted it. Whoo hoo - Alaska here I come............. well in a year's time, that is lol!

That's on my bucket list as well, RB. Several people I know went on an Alaskan cruise and enjoyed it tremendously. I also want to try a Viking river cruise in Europe.

Oh, how exciting! My mom did an Alaska trip many years ago and really enjoyed it.

I am so excited for you! My mother did those Alaska cruises twice and she said they were "magical". Her words. You will have so much fun. Lucky you. You sure take life by the horns and go for the ride. Who will watch your babies?

RB, you could try a fjord trip, just for practice.

No have been to Vancouver and travelled north so was almost there! :) Saw plenty of the cruise liners setting off to Alaska from there. My sister and her husband did the trip a couple of years ago and loved it. Would be nice to visit that area again.

Could you imagine me on a cruise ship with my anxiety. Nope, I'm a landlover, odd for growing up in a place surrounded by water :)
