Mother Nature's Sense of Humor
Mother Nature's Sense of Humor
Looks like Mother Nature is just a bit late with her April Fool joke. This morning we had absolutely no snow, nothing, nada, bare everywhere. Now look at what we have this afternoon.

What do you have, Diat?

We got snow Sunday into Monday, but yesterday' sunny day, albeit cold, melted a great deal of it. They initially predicted 8 inches, but we got only a couple. The robins though were in the trees versus the lawn looking for worms. You could just imagine their thoughts...WT*?!!!

Mother Nature can be a "naughty girl" when she wants to! (Which is not what I REALLY wanted to say!)

One day of snow would be nice - don't feel I've had winter without one!

We've had lots of rain, but today the temp. got up to 60° and the sun actually appeared for a little while. My forsythias are in full bloom now, and the grass is looking much greener.

Mother Nature is a witch. It is snowing here now. The roads are very slippery. Here I was dreaming of getting my garden in - or at least rototilled, but, it looks like we will have to wait. My poor flowers.
Re: Mother Nature's Sense of Humor
We had sun and a slight breeze. So out we go, we as in my grandson and me, to try our luck in kite flying. Luck is with us, up goes the kite, grandson is all smiles.
Starts to get really windy, but we have that kite really flying high now and we're not giving up. Grandma goes in the house for heavier coats. Soon it starts to rain, up goes our hoods, we will not quit! Wow, the rain turns to large wet snowflakes!
Grandma goes in the house for mittens. We have made it to the end of our string. Success!

That is true perseverance, Stella!

oh Stella, it sounds like you and your grandson had a grand day. Those are the things that memories are made of. Too bad you couldn't say that you had to ditch your coats because it was too warm instead of getting mittens though. but, as I said, he will probably always remember that day.
I had a good day too. I talked to my best girlfriend from about 40 years ago today. When you talk to an old friend, it is like time hasn't changed and we are the best of friends again. I haven't seen her in ages, but, I know she loves me and I love her and we just are BFF's. That is such a lame saying, but, we really are best friends forever. She knows how I think and I know how she thinks and I just wish she lived around here instead of 2000 miles away. oh well.

You're a good grandma, Stella! It sounds like you both had lots of fun.
Mbday,
I had a friend like that. We knew each other since our freshman year in college and could talk to each other about anything. She succumbed to the big C 8 years ago, but I still talk to her sometime in my mind and imagine what her advice to me would be.
