Happy Vernal Equinox!

Post by draclvr »

We woke up to heavy snow with snowflakes the size of hamsters! :flower:

Happy Vernal Equinox to you too! :tear We have snow flurries, not sticking though, and it's cold and dreary. Where's all this global warming everyone is talking about when you need it?

Ha, ha! It's not global warming - it's climate change! That's why it's not around when you need it and way too hot when you don't need it!

Fortunately for us, all the snow stayed south, so it's cold, but sunny.

No, they were very BIG snowflakes! That is kind of a local joke... a St. Louis weather broadcaster said that one during the weather broadcast and everyone still uses it to describe huge snowflakes!

Happy VE day to you all too. Bright and sunny here but definitely nippy.

The Equinox reminds me of my days in Kenya where every single day was equal - equal hours of daylight and darkness. I found that so boring, and I also missed the seasons when I was there.

Now I am looking forward to it being light in the middle of the night here.

spring! spring! spring! I love spring. I started my brussel sprout plants yesterday and put them outside to get a little sunshine. but, it is going to freeze tonight so I have to remember to bring them in before nightfall. I love it that it stays light until around 7 p.m. so if I can sweet talk the hubby into grilling, he can see what he is doing. I don't have daffodils yet, but, there are buds on them. I think my magnolia bush died, which is disheartening as I loved that bush. i will have to get another. There is nothing nicer than magnolia blooms. Now, I have to wait around 6 weeks for the baltimorioles and hummers and then my spring will be complete.

My daffodils are now in full bloom. I see that the containerised parsley survived the Orknwy winter, but the thyme died, boo hoo.
