Spring has sprung!

We have had two glorious sunny days here on Sanday - even my dogs have come out of hibernation. And look at my beautiful crocuses!

Oh, how gorgeous! My daffodils are just starting to bloom too.

spring is here too. No flowers yet, but, robins galore and red-winged blackbirds. In about 7 weeks we could start seeing my "baltimorioles" and hummers. I can't wait. I bought some brussel sprout seeds and I just might get motivated to get them started in my kit.

Your crocuses are beautiful, RB. It's lovely here in NJ as well, and so wonderful to have the windows open again. Unfortunately, the dogs dug up many of my daffodils along the fence during their digging escapes last year, and most of the rest of them have rocks on top until I can repair the weak spots along the fence. Their Dog Watch collars seem to be working well, but I noticed Zork pushing the boundaries when his collar battery went dead a couple of weeks ago.

Yes I have daffodils pushing through also, and a few are already out in full bloom.

The dogs have been out in the field all day today - they have had a whale of a time after being in most of the Winter. I have installed a new dog flap in the front door, and they have been having lessons all day. Benji, although brain damaged, got it almost immediately but I knew Maloo would fnd it harder to learn, as she just wont push open a door, even if its ajar,

And oh the days are getting so much longer so very quickly. It seems not so long ago that it was still dark here at 9 o clock in the morning, and now its starting to get light at 6 a.m.

Beautiful flowers! I have a lot of green sprouts, but no flowers yet. Spent yesterday uncovering and getting out yard decorations. It's starting to look like Spring!

Quite envious of you all. We're still surrounded by huge heaps of dirty snow, whilst being in the middle of a thaw that's producing lakes of water everywhere. Not a good time of the year for white dogs! Never mind, when all your crocuses and daffs, etc. are finished, we'll just be starting ours and then you can be envious of me!

Those are beautiful pics. We're dull and dreary here today. I just got in from raking the salt off the front lawn. It's nice enough to wear a light jacket. I went out to get the recycling bucket in my t-shirt. It's suppose to be really nice next week. Enjoy your nice weather everyone

I've had those weeds all winter, Drac! Why can't the plants be as hardy?!

Yesterday, I was greeted by a mallard walking up my front walkway to the front porch...quacking up a storm. He finally flew around to the pond around back. I don't know what he was looking for. Next a blue jay sat in the tree out front for a bit. I heard birds singing in my weeping cherry and saw my first robins in the back yard. The Morning Doves have been perched in the gutter above the front door, cooing to greet the day.

The birds have been waking me up every morning with their singing. It's the best way to wake up.

No dawn chorus here LadyK - its too cold for them to sing!

My chorus is at night - the spring peepers! They are tiny little frogs that make a racket that would rival standing next to a jet. We have a pond that is fish free - too shallow - down in the pasture and they are deafening right now. My favorite sound in the world though.. even more so than my hummingbirds.

Oh no, not that sound for me - My next door neighbour in Kenya had a pond with about 1000 frogs in it, and the croaking would keep me awake all night long - along with the all night al fresco discos and the mosques!
